Winnie and Nonie Heard

    Winifred Kate (Winnie) Heard Randolph and Lenora (Nonie) Heard are pictured above in their graduation dresses. Winnie graduated from UHS in 1920 and Nonie in 1921, and both women went to Sul Ross College and became teachers, and both taught in Uvalde County Schools for 40 years.

     

     

     

    Winnie, on the left, taught at Farris School, Bear Creek School, West Garden School and then at Robb School.

    Nonie, on the right, taught at Aldine School, Knippa School, Benson Primary, then got her Masters degree in Library Science from North Texas State University and was the Librarian at West Main, then the Jr. High, and was High School Librarian when she retired.
